No Service
tax will be charged on transportation of milk by rail or vessel from one place
to another in India.
A representation received from
Indian Railways seeking clarification as to whether service by way of
transportation of milk by rail is covered by Notification
No.25/2012-STdated 20.06.2012.
In response of this
representation, it is clarified that expression ‘foodstuff’ appearing in Notification No.25/2012-ST
includes milk.
